ATD1 Production Update 3 - Making of the ultimate travel and EDC backpack

At the very end of 2018, the laser-cutting machine had some unexpected issues and we had to wait for it to be repaired. This forced us to postpone our work on fabrics and waste a couple of weeks.

We took advantage of that waiting time to cut all webbing, sew all the webbing parts, improve the building process, make some sewing templates for the back panel and print invoices and shipping documents to avoid wastes of time during the last stage of the game.

As we now approach to the Finish line, the packs are finally taking their final shape. There is always a strong emotion at this stage of production, as all the “layers” can be seen adding up and making the products real.

To avoid detecting issues and having to fix them when the products are ready to ship, we are constantly re-inspecting and quality checking our work at every step. This process takes time (and makes us seem like crazy to our friends and families), but we truly want you guys to carry this bags around the world without concerning about their building quality.

We finally have a date for shipping: except for serious unexpected issues, i’ll personally send all the packs out between March 18th and 21st from our manufacturing partner facility in central Italy!

A small update about the padded belt as the response was great: we still have 6 padded belts available and all the ones ordered within March, 17th will be shipped with their packs. To purchase your belt, just click here and place your order entering FRSHPPNG1 code at checkout.

That should be all for now,

Cheers!
